What Matters to You? – Share your feedback to help improve future NHS services in Torbay and South Devon
Healthwatch in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay is run in partnership by three local organisations – Engaging Communities South West, Colebrook South West and Citizens Advice Devon.
Local Healthwatch organisations were established as fully independent consumer champions run by local people, for local people. They are part of a national network of Local Healthwatch that was set up under the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
Healthwatch in Torbay and Devon are currently supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) to gather people’s experiences of the healthcare services they provide in the acute hospital setting and in community settings.
TSDFT want to hear what matters most to people who use healthcare services in Torbay and South Devon, so that they can improve the experience of patients, families and carers in the future.
If you have come into contact with NHS healthcare services in Torbay or South Devon, please take a few minutes to share your feedback with Healthwatch, as it will help to inform TSDFT how their services can be improved, based on what matters to you.

Latest Healthwatch report shows local people are in favour of a community bid for the former Dartmouth and Kingswear Cottage Hospital site
The results of a recent survey by Healthwatch in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay show an 85% approval rating for a community bid to acquire the site of the former cottage hospital in Dartmouth.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, which is preparing to sell the site, and Dartmouth Town Council are working together to explore whether the community can buy the former Dartmouth Hospital site, and whether its redevelopment could include uses specifically to benefit people in and around Dartmouth.
The survey, which was carried out by Healthwatch, on behalf of the Council and the NHS, was live from 08 November to 10 December 2021. During that time, 642 people responded either online or by filling out a paper copy of the survey, which was available at local venues in and around Dartmouth.
